Decolonization of Public Space and Tangible Heritage

Traces of colonial heritage are scattered across the public space of Marseille : statues, decorative paintings, street names, monuments. This themed collection demonstrates that today these traces, more or less visible, are a topic of diverse debate and contestations. Thus, questioning the way in which cities like Marseille, and their inhabitants, can understand this heritage, which must be the object of contextualisation and critical analysis.
