Understanding the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille
In 2022, at the bottom of the stairs of the Saint-Charles train station, protests brought to Marseille’s public space the memory of an often forgotten event, the National Colonial Exhibition that was held in the town in 1922. These protests are the starting point of our investigation : what remains, in Marseille, of this exhibition and its memory? Paradoxically, few things. To retrace this history, the contexts, the stakeholders, we invite you to follow historians in the places where they work and conduct their research.
